OUR BEGINNINGS WERE... messy
(the non-alcoholic kind)
Our vision was simple - a good gin and tonic from a mobile bar that wouldn't require you to take out a small loan to pay for it. And the frustration of buying a boring, lack-lustre gin and tonic out of a non-recyclable plastic cup? No thanks. So we decided to make our own and provide customers what we would expect from a good bar!
We focused our excitement and bought an old rice trailer, and some-what naively looked forward to the challenge of turning it into a vintage copper style bar... The pictures below say it all; rotten wood, rusting steel - most of it needed replacing. After demolishing three quarters of the trailer, apart from the structure and starting from scratch, we officially launched The Copper Cork in July 2018. There were a few swear words, debates and general 'what now' moments along the way, but six months from purchase we transformed the gin bar - and we couldn't be more proud. Now, let's drink some gin!
